The Ghost of Marion Jones
Is anyone else being haunted by the ghost of Marion Jones while watching the Olympics this year? All these broken records and whatnot? I was so happy for her and so proud of her 8 years ago in Syndey, and then she got busted for steroids. *sigh* And now, while I’m very happy to see Michael Phelps excelling, I just have a little bit of a trust issue because of Marion. Anybody else?

#7 written by Lynne 3 years agoI know I’m a little late here, but…Stop the negativity!!! Haven’t you people ever heard of denial??? That is how you must view this sacred event. I too was devastated when Marion Jones turned out to be a chemically enhanced liar, but we must move back to a place of trust – trust in Michael, trust in the Chinese (not really) – even if it is just for the two weeks we get to hope and dream along with these amazing specimens. OK, thank you.

Nope. I probably would have if his 8th medal would have been the .01 second win against Cavic. Last night’s race was a little bit anti-climactic for me and I kept getting pissed at the news people because they acted like it was an individual event. Did you see the medal ceremony? The camera stayed on his face the whole time! There were 3 other people getting a gold medal and you never would’ve known it.

#11 written by Crazy Lady 3 years agoAt least Phelps acknowledged his teammates for his success. As for the ceremony I missed it do too those darn lil people that live with me they always need something. I don’t no why they cannot fend for themselves yet. I mean they are 2, 4, 6 and 8 now.
The media always has tunnel vision and never looks at the big picture unless there is blood on the frame.[Reply]

I have a problem with the fact my kids can’t seem to stay up late enough to watch all this history being made! I remember watching Olga Corbett and Nadia C-but I don’t remember staying up till midnight to see it! Maybe we will have coffee and chocloate for dinner and chase it with a few monsters!
