Oh, Bother. Another Political Post. But It’s Short!
Just posting this Momocrats post over here because some people want to say that McCain supports the military and Obama doesn’t. Here is the post. And here is an excerpt (because I know how clicking is a drag). In case you can’t tell, the author is talking to Cindy McCain. I don’t know why the author even bothered. I’m pretty sure Cindy’s brand of FemBot is not programmed to listen to such things as facts and reason. I don’t know, though, these “veterans” groups sound like a bunch of hippie liberals. It’s probably just more propaganda. Whatevs.
The Disabled American Veterans give your husband, Senator McCain, the man you claim supports the troops and veterans, only a 20% rating. Senator Obama gets an 80% rating. The Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America just released their 2008 Congressional ratings and gave John McCain a D. Barack Obama got a B. Now I know John McCain is used to getting D’s, I mean he had to have gotten quite a few to have graduated at nearly the bottom of his Naval Academy class. But D’s aren’t acceptable when it comes to men and women who give their lives serving in our military.
P.S. Barack Obama is coming to Columbus on Friday. If you go, maybe I’ll see you. I’ll be the one shouting and crying about my whole “choosing between saving for retirement or going to college or paying for speech therapy or buying a house” issue. All day long. Every time there’s a break in applause. Maybe you’ll see me get arrested on tv.

Okay, I’ll make sure to bring bus fare home. ‘Cause the economy is so bad that I don’t think I could post bail. (But that is a skill set that I have, so once Brian and I sell some plasma, we’ll come right back and spring ya, sister.)

Hey Abbs… So, I can’t tell if the author was interviewing or editorializing. But, I hate that when I see it by any media type… the interviewer didn’t seem really interested in the issue of these Vet Groups and McCain; more like a way to dig at the McCains. Most, if not all reporters, do this and it just puts me off to media of all kinds.
That said, the link to the post bring up another thing about our fu**ed legislature… McCain is ‘against the troops’ because he wouldn’t support a bill with a timeline. Obama is ‘against the troops’ because he wouldn’t support a bill without a timeline. ENOUGH!! These people are not for or against troops.. they were for or against a bill! The ‘trick’ of picking one aspect of a bill and using that as a club is so BULLSHIT! IE… the record of McCain voting against the troops… the only way that is legit is if we know what else was in each of those bills…
Here is a ludicrous example: I introduce the ‘health care for all babies at no cost to us’ bill. So.. how can you be against medical care for babies?? Heartless bloodsucker if you are. Now, lets say there is a second part of this bill… each time a baby is treated under this bill, then a random American is chosen to go to Canada and gut a live Canadian and video tape the act. (Nothing against Canada; I chose that country because 1–we can walk there and 2–if I picked Mexico because of walking distance people would have went apeshit about racism or some crap…get a grip! This is hypothetical.).
Anyway, this is obviously stupid. But, If you voted against it then in your next campaign the ads would be …. “joe politician hates babies. He voted against saving babies” AND if you voted for it? “joe politician.. can we have someone so bloodthirsty that he would vote to violently kill thousands of Canadians each year??” Not the Canadians… we like them, eh? Plus, there’s the bacon…
Anyway, yeah, there is list of A LOT of votes… and, if I were a better voter, I would read about them and see if there really is concern there or not.
BUT I agree… using votes on particular bills is being deceptive.

@Tony I hope you know that nobody here is saying that anybody is “against the troops.” I’m simply showing the grade that the veterans gave the candidates. I hate the “he voted against xyz bill” bull too. That rhetoric can’t be taken at face value. Grades given by veterans’ groups? I think they can be.

We’re saying the same thing cuz… I don’t believe either candidate is ‘against the troops’ and I believe that some vet groups grade Obama higher than McCain… and I am sure other groups grade McCain higher. And I don’t think anyone here is saying anyone is against the troops…
Oh, I will be watching the news for coverage of your arrest
Have fun Friday
