Yes We Can (wear matching t-shirts)!
We went to the Obama/Biden thingy in Dublin on Saturday with Kristen and Dawn and their tweens. Yes, we wore matching homemade t-shirts. No, it’s not lame. It’s cool! The kids were bored, but they were so, so good and I know someday they’ll thank us for dragging them there. Lena already told me she wanted to show her future children the “on the road to change” sign that she was able to wave. Awwwwwwwww!
Our t-shirts were cool, thanks to Kristen, but this guy’s t-shirt was the best:

Of course I had to get a picture! I don’t even care that I look like a dumbass in this photo (I am a dumbass, so I should look like one). I’m posting it because the t-shirt says, “Michelle for first lady.” Word.
Dawn has a full report here. Kristen has a bunch of pictures here.
My report is that it was awesome. That’s all. Sixty-five days, people. Get your people to the polls.

I’m so glad you got to go, and that you were able to share the experience with your girls! Our brush with John McCain was not nearly as cool - instead of being energized by the rest of the crowd, I was fighting off homicidal urges - but I’m still happy that we went. Hopefully we get to even the score and see Obama at some point.
I love the Michelle shirt. I did not see any Cindy shirts at the Straight Talk Express stop.

So sorry that I missed this, but glad to hear that it went well. When he comes back, will you go again? And can we come with?

@amazonmidwife Yes and yes! We’ll have a whole homeschool caravan.
@FireMom Didn’t you get to do something fancy with Obama recently? Or was that another lucky blogger I read? Either way, you can’t have too many real-life Obama experiences.
@Carol Dawn suggested that we take the kids to a McCain rally so they can see the difference for themselves. Might be fun-ish.

[...] and it was fun. Dawn watched my kids because she rocks and because the children have been to two rallies and worked at one Campaign for Change headquarters and they’ve, frankly, had enough. [...]
